We shall be operating with many restrictions. Please read through the following instructions with great care.:
- The obligation to attend Mass on Sundays and Holy Days of obligation is still dispensed. Those with underlying conditions are advised not to attend.
- It is still not possible to celebrate the sacrament of reconciliation, but you may make your Communion despite the fact that you have not been to reconciliation as long as you make a perfect act of contrition and resolve to go to confession as soon as you are able to.
- The number of people allowed in church is restricted to comply with 1 metre distancing (about 80). We shall probably get all those who come into church, but if we were to get more than the maximum number, then you may be turned away. Please be sensitive about this and do not take offense.
- Please be in church 10 minutes before the start. The doors will then be shut and no one else will be allowed in. This will enable instructions to be given before the start of the Mass.
- Everyone is required to have a face covering. You need to bring your own. You will not be allowed in without wearing it!
- You must sanitise your hands on entrance and on exit from the church.
- You will be shown to your seat by a steward. Please obey their instructions.
- Bring the minimum with you. If the weather is bad remember you may be standing outside for a while if too many people all arrive at once.
- Books and leaflets will not be available in church. You may like to bring your own or find the Mass on your phone.
- The toilets will be closed. If your condition means that you would have difficulty you should not attend.
- An offertory basket will be at the door where you leave. If you wish to make your offertory donation by cheque, please make it out to “Sacred Heart Church, Aston”
Although this Mass will ‘feel’ a bit unusual, it will be the Mass and a real encounter with the Lord. I look forward to seeing many of you. Come with love , devotion and tolerance in your hearts!
